The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has discussed with U.S. leadership, deepen cooperation in the energy sector.
“We discussed the issue of energy cooperation and energy security”, – said Poroshenko at a briefing in Washington on Wednesday.
According to him, the parties discussed the question of the purchase of American coal to replace coal from the occupied territories, the supply of which is terminated in connection with the confiscation of the Russian Federation of Ukrainian coal mines.
“We agreed to intensify cooperation in this direction, just as in the issue of nuclear power plant construction and storage of nuclear waste in order to remove the dependence on Russia”, – said Poroshenko.
