The U.S. can help Ukraine with the protection of Maritime borders

Ukrainian and American sides are discussing the possibility of sending long-term adviser from the U.S. coast guard to advise the Ukrainian border guards. This was reported by the press service of the state border service of Ukraine.

“Separately, U.S. and Ukrainian sides discussed the possibility of sending long-term adviser from the U.S. Coast guard in Ukraine”, – stated in the message.

The visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the US headed by the first Deputy head of state frontier service Vasily Serwatka was held June 12-16, 2017. In the US the delegation met simcommander U.S. Coast guard Admiral Charles Michel.

The sides discussed bilateral cooperation and the promotion of the American side in the way of support the state border service of Ukraine in its reform.

“While chatting Servatus and Michelle discussed a wide range of issues that relate to how the development of earlier initiatives and the introduction of a more profound and systematic approach to increase the capacity of Maritime guard of the border service of Ukraine to perform tasks for the protection and defense of the state border on the sea”, – have noted in frontier Department.

Recall the construction of the wall on the border with Russia began to engage Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway.
