The head of the Federal Department of foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter believes that the parties to the conflict in Donbass it is necessary to make more practical efforts for the implementation of the agreements that were previously reached to ensure peace in the Donbass.
“We need to negotiate, you need to do more to ensure that the previous agreements are fulfilled. If it were possible to withdraw heavy weapons, we could establish peace in this region, ” he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin on Wednesday in Kiev.
Burkhalter also said that Switzerland together with the International Committee of the red cross is working to release hostages and to improve the humanitarian situation in the Donbas.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and Switzerland has concluded agreements on readmission and bezveze.
