The Ambassador of Lithuania in Belarus, was summoned to the Belarusian foreign Ministry in connection with the statements of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite in a television interview.
“On June 6 in connection with the statements of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite in an interview with broadcaster LRT in the Belarusian foreign Ministry had summoned the Ambassador of Lithuania. In the course of the meeting the Belarusian side demanded an explanation in connection with charges of Belarus the threat to the Baltic countries and Poland, heard from the lips of the head of the Lithuanian state”, – informed the press service of the Belarusian foreign Ministry.
As reported in the foreign Ministry, “it was particularly noted that the President of the Lithuanian vocabulary, including the words “aggressive play”, is an insult to our country, leading a peaceful policy, making a real and recognized contribution to strengthening security in our region”.
“Such statements are not made to strengthen security in the region, and to increase its awareness among NATO partners, and popularity among voters,” – said the Minister.
At the same time, noticed there, “very strange that such rhetoric comes from the mouth of the President of the country, friendly relations with which are bonded to the Belarusian-Lithuanian “Agreement on good neighborliness and cooperation”, signed and valid for more than 20 years.”
