The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a telephone conversation with President of the European Union Donald Tusk during which the two sides discussed the situation in the Donbass. This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine.
“Petro Poroshenko drew attention to the persistent violation by Russia of the Minsk agreements and urged the EU to extend sanctions against Moscow”, – stated in the message.
Poroshenko also congratulated Tusk ratification by the Senate of the Netherlands of the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine. The parties coordinated the schedule on which the Agreement enters into force.
The President of the European Union, in turn, told the President of Ukraine about results of a meeting “the Big seven”, which took place in Italy.
Also Poroshenko and Tusk discussed the agenda of the summit Ukraine-EU which will take place in Kyiv on July 13.
We will remind, on may 25 following the meeting with the US President Donald Tusk said that the EU and the United States have a common position on the conflict in Ukraine.
May 26, Tusk said that the EU and the US will continue the sanctions policy towards Russia. Also , he called the country’s “Big seven” to extend sanctions against Russia.
