The company “Yandex” has announced that their employees will not transmit personal information about Ukrainian users to Russian security services. About it reports a press-service of the company, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
“No employees “Yandex.Ukraine”, nor the leadership of the Ukrainian division did not have access to personal data of users of “Yandex”. Protection of personal data of our users in all countries where we provide services is a top priority. In particular to ensure this, user data is impersonal and anonymous. There are strict legal procedures under which law enforcement can contact the company with the requirement to disclose certain information – but this should be a decision of the court, the company must consider it justified. No data transmission, which accused the “Yandex” was not”, – said the company.
“Now we consult to lawyers and we will take the necessary legal action to protect our team – for us it is the most important priority,” reads the statement of “Yandex”.
We will remind, in Kiev and Odessa the security Service of Ukraine on Monday conducted searches in the offices of “Yandex. Ukraine”. This was announced by the speaker of the SBU Elena Gitlyanskaya on his page in Facebook. Also in the SBU said that investigations are in the framework of criminal proceedings opened under article 111 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (high treason).
