Prime Minister of Spain responded to the threat of Catalonia

Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has called an unacceptable blackmail of the intention to declare the independence of Catalonia if the Spanish government would interfere with the autonomy to hold a referendum. It is reported by the newspaper El Mundo, reports “Ukrainian truth”.

According to Rajoy, the head of the Generalitat (government) of Catalonia Carlos Edgemont must appear before Parliament and explain their proposals.

“He called to Parliament to explain their proposals and why he is blackmailing the state, democracy and the Spanish people. This is unacceptable,” said the Prime Minister of Spain.

According to him, the government of Catalonia, the document provides for the Declaration of independence, “destroy the law and can destroy a nation-state, because there are at least 500 years.”

As reported, the government of Catalonia has prepared a mechanism that provides for the immediate secession from Spain, if Madrid does not allow for a scheduled fall referendum.
