Malta can be a powerful transport hub in Ukraine – Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko said that Malta could become a hub for Ukrainian farmers for export of their products to North Africa and to open new opportunities for the Ukrainian steel industry. About it reports a press-service of the President of Ukraine.

Poroshenko also announced that Ukraine is ready to open in Malta a centre of state enterprise “Antonov”, which will greatly promote the development of the Ukrainian aviation industry.

The President also said that signing a number of documents planned during the visit, opens up “great opportunities for students, youth, cooperation in the field of sports and business.”

According to Poroshenko, the Ukrainian delegation brought a number of proposals and projects for joint Ukrainian-Maltese business projects in different spheres and intergovernmental decisions.

In turn, the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro-Prek noted that during the meeting with Poroshenko they discussed the cooperation of the business community of Malta and Ukraine.

“Between our countries there are huge opportunities in business development in various fields, particularly in infrastructure development, Maritime transport”, – said the head of the Maltese state.

Thus, Coleiro-Preko drew attention to the possibility of cooperation between Ukraine and Africa with the participation of Malta as a powerful Maritime transport hub.

Recall, during the state visit of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Malta between the two countries signed cooperation agreements in the areas of diplomacy, sports and education.
