Today the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deprived of the mandate of the independent people’s Deputy Andrey Artemenko. Earlier, on April 29, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree stopped the Ukrainian citizenship policy due to the fact that in 2005, received canadian citizenship. The whole scandal around Artemenko broke out due to the fact that in the beginning of the year he handed over the administration of the President of the United States Donald trump prepared a “plan of settlement” to the conflict in the East of Ukraine, which provided the opportunity to give Russia the Crimea “rent”.
The decision on termination of Deputy powers Artemenko was approved yesterday by the Committee on rules of the Verkhovna Rada. The legal basis for the adoption of such decision has arisen due to the fact that the MP is no longer a citizen of Ukraine. At the Committee meeting was not present nor he Artemenko, nor his lawyers. Thus, according to the head of the Committee Pavel Pynzenyk, they received a request from the then MP not to consider his question at the meeting due to the fact that the decree of the President appealed to the Supreme administrative court of Ukraine, and also due to the fact that “in the framework of this administrative proceeding they filed a petition for termination of the decree of President regarding the termination of his citizenship”.
However, the relevant Committee recommended the deputies to vote on deprivation Artemenko Deputy mandate. Today this decision was supported by 244 people’s deputies.
Before the vote this initiative was supported by MPs from the faction of the BPP, the “people’s front” and the Radical party.
The whole scandal around the name of the odious Deputy broke out after he offered to give up annexed Crimea “rent” of Russia. So, in February 2017, the New York Times reported that Artemenko was transferred to the administration of U.S. President Donald trump prepared a “plan of settlement” of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
“The plan”, in particular, provides for the holding of all-Ukrainian referendum on the transfer of Ukraine’s Russian Crimea “in the lease for a period of 50 to 100 years” and “the withdrawal of Russian troops from Eastern Ukraine”. In addition, Artemenko has allegedly provided evidence of corrupt activities of Petro Poroshenko, which included the names of the companies and Bank transfers.
20 Feb faction of the Radical party took the decision to exclude Artemenko from among its members, and the Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea has opened a criminal investigation against him on suspicion in Commission of attempt at territorial integrity of Ukraine, in coordination with the representatives of the Russian Federation. The corresponding document was published by the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko on his page in Facebook.
“Artemenko, as people’s Deputy, performing his duties of the MP in January 2017, being abroad, by prior agreement with the authorities of the Russian Federation has committed treason, namely provided to a foreign state (Russia. – Ed.) assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine”, – the document says.
Also, it is noted that the MP is suspected of incitement to transfer to a long-term lease in Crimea, which is Ukraine’s territory, which could legitimize the occupation of the Peninsula.

“We must emerge from the conflict with Russia, keeping the border in 1991. The Minsk process for this worthless – it has no legal mechanisms or public trust,” – said Artyomenko.
According to the former MP, the Foundation of a peaceful settlement in the Crimea can become a “double sovereignty or international administration for the transitional period”.
“This will restore in the Crimea, the sovereignty of Ukraine, and not to lose it completely. The Peninsula may not be loaned. The Peninsula is the territory of Ukraine, and it is an axiom. In addition, he proposed to impose an international administration in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass. According to him, the purpose of such administration under the leadership of the UN and the OSCE should be the restoration within two years of the rule of law in these territories and their adaptation for the conduct of democratic elections.

In the end April 29 Ukrainian citizenship Artemenko was stopped by a decree Poroshenko.
