The EU lifted the ban on chicken meat from Ukraine

The European Union lifted the ban on the export of birds from many regions of Ukraine due to the fact that from February of 2017 in the state has not recorded cases of bird flu. About it reported in Public service on issues of food safety.

“Thanks to the implementation of measures stipulated in the manual on prevention of bird flu, from February 2017 in the state has not recorded cases of bird flu, so the European Union as a whole in addition to individual regions, was removed from Ukraine’s ban on the export of poultry,” – said the Director of the Department of food safety and veterinary Boris Kobal.

According to him, a major factor in the spread of the flu birds in the world are infected with the pathogen of wild birds, which in spring and autumn penetrate into Ukraine from the South, West, North and East in accordance with its own migration routes.

Earlier, Europe banned the import of Ukrainian poultry for sick birds. However, Europe is not the largest buyer of Ukrainian chicken and eggs, experts say. Main market – Asia.
