Became known, where Ukraine will store nuclear waste

In Ukraine to build a number of repositories for spent fuel from nuclear power plants. Overall, there will be four: two in Kiev region, others in Zaporizhzhya and Khmelnitsky NPP. This broadcast ZIK said the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion.

“Today, Ukraine is built multiple repositories for spent fuel from nuclear power plants. In particular, one of these repositories will be created at the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Another vault was built in the “exclusion zone”, i.e. in the Chernobyl power plant. Moreover, this is what the storage should provide storage of nuclear fuel will be removed from the power units of Chernobyl NPP”, – said Question.

Total in Ukraine will build four new storage for spent nuclear fuel nuclear power plants. “The following repository for spent fuel planned to build at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant and another in the Kiev region, near the exclusion zone,” – said Question.

The politician also said that the two energokrizisa close to the capital will not harm the health of residents and will be fully safe for their lives. “If you adhere to all production schedules, to live in such storage is completely safe,” – said Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Question also said that the may 11 meeting, the government created a special Fund, which will receive the proceeds from the operation of nuclear power plants, which will later be sent directly to the construction of all four storages of spent fuel of nuclear power plants.
