Earlier it was reported that the UK will put pressure on its Western partners to impose new sanctions against Russia if it does not sever ties with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Earlier, the leader of the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate Mitch McConnell stated that he does not exclude introduction of new sanctions against Russia if the proposal will receive bipartisan support.
