Poroshenko discussed with the delegation of the European Parliament prospects for the completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine

At the meeting of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with the delegation of the European Parliament headed by Chairman of the foreign Affairs Committee, David McAllister, the parties discussed the prospects of completing the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

“The sides discussed the prospects for the completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the way of realizing the potential of a deep and comprehensive free trade zone, including approval by the European Parliament on additional Autonomous trade preferences to Ukraine and issues of energy security of the European continent,” – said in a statement on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The head of state expressed deep gratitude to the European Parliament for approval on 6 April the decision on the introduction of the EU visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine.

“This decision was a clear confirmation of the strong support of the European Parliament the European future of our state,” said Poroshenko.

The leader of Ukraine highly appreciated the active position of the European Parliament on the protection of human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea and support for the de-occupation of the Peninsula and its return under the sovereignty of Ukraine.

However, the parties noted the necessity of taking concrete measures to improve the efficiency of countering Russian disinformation campaign in Europe.
