An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka, have informed in the Kamchatka branch of Geophysical service RAS, reports “RIA Novosti!.
“Seismic event occurred near Bay Lake in the East of Kamchatka. The epicenter was at a depth of 37.3 km 78 km North-East of the village of Ust-Kamchatsk. The distance to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – 513 kilometers. Energy class of the earthquake was 10.5”, – said the representative of the geophysical service.
In the settlements of the Kamchatka region earthquake was not felt. Victims and destructions.
In geophysical service noted that scientists continue to record the hundreds of aftershocks in the Bay area of the Lake. This aftershock caused by the strong earthquake of magnitude 6.7 that occurred in the area on March 29. In the villages of Ust ‘ -Kamchatsk, of krutoberegovo, Keys and Kozyrevsk then the tremors were felt the power from 2 to 6 points. The earthquake resulted in destruction.
