Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the US that the confrontation in Ukraine could lead to global conflict. He stated this at the international Arctic forum in Arkhangelsk, answering a question about Russian-American relations.
“If we try by any means, especially such dangerous regional conflicts, someone to hold, this can lead to a global catastrophe and global conflicts,” said Putin. He is convinced: “on the Contrary, we should strive to resolve conflicts of any kind.” “I really hope that our American partners will fall exactly on the path of cooperation,” he said.
“As for Ukraine. In those States or in other places that we know for sure that the worse the relations between Russia and Ukraine, the better for them because it weakens Russia, it does not turn the integration processes which would strengthen Russia, including in the economic sphere”, – said Putin.
As you know, after the illegal annexation of Crimea in March 2014, Russia began to actively support the militants in the Donbas.
