Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andriy Shevchenko said he expects to hear an affirmative answer from Canada on the request to supply weapons to Ukraine, reports UKRINFORM.
“We need lethal weapons, and data satellite intelligence – in this respect nothing has changed from 2014, when we first addressed this request. And the recent tension in the East only confirmed this need,” said Shevchenko.
According to him, Ukraine hopes to receive arms from NATO partners. “We hope that our partners in NATO and the entire free world will help us to protect ourselves and get the proper weapons,” – said Shevchenko.
We will remind, recently the government of Canada announced its decision for two years, until March 31, 2019, to extend a military training mission UNIFIER in Ukraine.
