The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) notes the growing demand and interest in the commemorative coins of Ukraine from both the Ukrainian society and the international community. About it reports a press-service of the NBU.
According to the national Bank, this, in particular, by data for the implementation of commemorative coins of Ukraine.
So, in 2016, the NBU sold 1.13 million commemorative coins in the amount of 170 million UAH, more than double the income from the sale of commemorative coins in 2015.
In 2016, the national Bank of Ukraine resumed the tradition of holding numismatic auctions and decided to implement the entire edition gold commemorative coin “25 years of independence of Ukraine” on public auctions Universal commodity exchange “house of contracts UICE”.
In the course of the year through this mechanism was implemented 196 gold commemorative coin “25 years of independence of Ukraine” (49% of their total circulation) for a total amount of 27,78 million.
In 2016, the national Bank of Ukraine introduced into circulation commemorative coins 47 (37 items), of which: 1 – gold, 15 – silver, 30 coins Nickel silver, 1 bimetal, with a total circulation of 1 million 155 thousand 400 coins.
In NBU reminded that from September 2016 has begun selling commemorative coins of new releases by the National Bank of Ukraine previous online orders. Now through this mechanism is implemented almost 54 thousand commemorative coins.

In addition, abroad sold 55 thousand 530 commemorative and investment coins in the amount 659.8 thousand euros and 250.7 thousand dollars.

Ukraine started its numismatic program in 1995.
During this period the national Bank of Ukraine has extended his own coin production, created a school of artists medal, coined 716 commemorative coins with a total circulation of over 18 million coins.
Annually an appeal is entered in more than 40 commemorative coins, produced in 33 series. The coins tell the history and traditions of the Ukrainian people, nature, achievements, cities, monuments or people.
