France harshly criticized the Kremlin’s decision to recognize the passports of “LNR/DNR”

The decision of the authorities of Russia on the recognition of passports issued by the Pro-Russian militants in the occupied territories of Donbass contradict the Minsk agreements. This was stated by the representative of the French foreign Ministry at a daily briefing on Monday.

“France regrets this decision which is not in line with the Minsk agreements”, – said the foreign Ministry of France.

“We urge the Russian government to focus efforts and use its influence on separatist leaders in order to Minsk agreement was executed without delay,” – said the Agency.

Earlier, a spokesman for the German foreign office Steffen Seibert said that the decision of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the recognition of passports issued by the Pro-Russian militants in the occupied territories of Donbass is a violation of the Minsk agreements and Germany is not going to accept them.

“Recognition of documents issued by the self-proclaimed “Donetsk people’s Republic” undermines the unity of Ukraine and completely contradicts everything that was agreed in Minsk, and therefore completely unacceptable,” he said during a regular government press conference in Berlin.

We will remind, on February 18, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recognition in Russia of the documents issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons residing in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine.

In turn the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called Putin’s decree on the recognition of passports and other documents of the so-called “DNR” and “LNR” violate international law and evidence of occupation of this part of Ukraine.
