Forecasters warned of the threat posed by the thaw in the Ukraine

According to forecasters, the expected thaw will trigger a rise in water level in the rivers of the Western regions of Ukraine, which may cause flooding of some areas in the Carpathians.

According to meteorologists, on 5 February in the Transcarpathian region will host a rain, the temperature will range from five to seven degrees above zero.

It is noted that as a result of precipitation and snowmelt, there would be a gradual increase in water levels above current levels: on the rivers of the Transcarpathian region, pools Xiang, Dniester (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk region), Western bug (Lviv, Volyn region) at 0,2-1,0 m.

The Agency warned that the gradual weakening and destruction of ice cover will cause congestion at the ice with sharp fluctuations of water levels on 0,5-1,5 m. the press service noted that we are talking about areas in the lower reaches of Borzhava – 2.0-3.0 m, with the water outlet on the floodplain and flooding of agricultural land of several villages and roads Vinogradovo-Shalanky (Vynohradiv, Irshava district, Transcarpathian region) are likely to achieve the marks of flooding (Turka, Drohobych district, Lviv region).

For the rest of the country – partly cloudy. In the West the temperature will fluctuate within four to six degrees Celsius in the center – zero to two degrees to the West – from one degree to three degrees Celsius.
