Qatar Airways is launching the longest flight in history, which given the time zone changes will take a day and a half. About it reports “UKRINFORM” with reference to the Independent newspaper.
“Time travel seems extreme. The Qatar Airways plane will leave Doha at 5.10 on Sunday, February 5, and will cross 10 time zones,” notes the article.
The plane will land in Auckland new Zealand at 07:30. Monday, February 6. Thus in flight it will be 16 hours and 20 minutes, however, with the change of time zones, flight time will be a half day.
As reported, in 2018, the record will be beaten in the Qatar Airways Singapore airlines plan to start flights on the route Singapore-new York non-stop. Before that the longest was considered the flight from Dubai to Auckland.
