With the election of Donald trump to the President of the USA “finally ended the old world of the XX century”, wrote the Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in a column on the website of the newspaper Bild – reports “Gordon”.
He noted that Germany will seek dialogue with the new US administration and will try to explain my positions, values and interests. According to Steinmeier, the country must prepare for turbulent times, which will be “full of vagaries and uncertainties”.
The Minister expressed confidence that Germany will find in Washington, “attentive listeners” who know that even large countries need good friends and allies.
Earlier it was reported that Steinmeier responded to hard attack trump in NATO.
Recall, trump was elected President in the elections of November 8, 2016. On 20 January he officially took office.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on December 21 to compromise with the new administration of the United States. She said that transatlantic relations in the next few years will be no less important than in the past.
