Eight people were killed in an explosion in Central Baghdad media

At least eight people were killed in the blast near a checkpoint in Central Baghdad, according to al Jazeera. It is reported that the explosion no one has claimed responsibility.

This is the second attack in the capital of Iraq for the day. Earlier on Thursday morning in an explosion at a food market in Eastern Baghdad killed seven civilians and two policemen. As reported by al Jazeera, 15 people were wounded. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by ISIS.

Both bombs were in parked cars.Earlier it was reported that the attack in the Baghdad suburb of Madinat-es-Sadr on 2 January, 32 people died. Another 61 people were injured. The attack staged by a suicide bomber who detonated an explosive device in the car.
