1 to 1 600 000. It is likely to die from a meteorite impact, asteroid or comet, according to Professor Nelson from Tulane University. The first documented case occurred in India in 2016, but it is controversial because NASA are convinced that we are talking about earthly accident. However, the team was able to obtain information about a much more ancient incident: all occurred in the Ottoman Empire in the late nineteenth century.
As published in Meteoritics & Planetary Science studies, the first death from the fall of the meteorite occurred in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the North-East of modern Iraq 22 Aug 1888. If you believe the three manuscripts from the state archive of the Turkish Republic, which managed to obtain access to specialists, the day appeared in the sky fireball. It probably exploded in the upper atmosphere, then crashed into a hill near Sulaymaniyah. Near the point of impact, the man died. Another was paralyzed. The stories, the meteor shower lasted about ten minutes, but nobody else was injured. The documents also indicated significant damage to crops, apparently due to the blast wave.

Armed with this discovery, the scientists stated that there could be other stories about such natural disasters. It is worth noting that this incident was not mentioned in the journal International Comet Quarterly, which collects data on the most serious incidents since the beginning of the XIX century.
By far one of the most significant events in history was the fall of the meteorite in Chelyabinsk in 2013 (then hit 1 500 people). For 105 years before the Tunguska meteorite caused panic and burned the forest to a radius of at least 20 km.
