Poroshenko responded to the hysteria of the Russian law on education poetry Shevchenko

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called the criticism of the State Duma of Russia hysteria, which do not need to pay attention. He said this during a meeting with education workers in Kiev today, transfers UNIAN.

The head of state noted that the statements Russia is not even worth paying attention to and remembered the words of Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.

“Of course, we don’t pay attention to the hysterical statements of the State Duma of Russia, which has long and rightly called the prison of Nations … From which we emerged and to which will never return. We will remind, the state Duma spoke with the condemnation of the Ukrainian law “On education” and adopted a statement which intends to apply to a number of international organizations. In the Russian Parliament believe that the new Ukrainian educational law supposedly will be “an act of ethnocide” of the Russian people in Ukraine.

In turn, Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko, answering the claims of neighbouring countries, according to the law “On education”, invited them to attend schools for national minoritiesand called on to defend the Ukrainian language.
