Ukraine will be the first toll road

In 2019 Ukraine will start the construction of a pilot concession roads, the use of which will provide the fare. This was stated by Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian, reports “Gromadske”.

“The pilot will be a concession road Lviv – Krakovets and Kiev – Uman. It will be a component of the highway, which will connect the Baltic and the Black sea, the so-called “Go Highway” from Gdansk to Odessa. But I remind you that concession roads will be built parallel to the existing free. Everyone will have a choice – he goes longer, not convenient, expensive, or chooses a European highway, but pays for it money”, – said the Minister.

He said that the construction of these roads would begin in early 2019.

The prospect of the development of toll roads in Ukraine, according to the Minister, depends on economic growth. “If we have 5%, and 10 – 15% GDP growth annually, definitely, it will stimulate the movement of business, encourage transportation, and consequently the demand for high quality highways will be,” he added.

Earlier, Omeljan also announced the construction of concrete roads in Ukraine.
