Port “South” has taken the second vessel with coal-anthracite from South Africa (South Africa). This was reported by the press service of DTEK.
“Today, 8:25 port “Yuzhny” took the second bulk carrier with 75 thousand tons of anthracite from South Africa. The new party will enable DTEK to continue the accumulation of coal in warehouses of thermal power plants of the company to the station in the future to ensure the stability of energy supply in the country”, – stated in the message.
Currently in the port “South” is unloading of the vessel. Work will be completed within 3-4 days.
The coal is intended for Pridneprovskaya and Krivorozhskaya TPP. As of July 23, stocks of anthracite at the stations is 110 thousand tons and 90 tons respectively.
“7,500 tons of anthracite is scheduled to unload at the warehouse of the enterprise for 2-3 days and promptly shipped to cars for shipment to Pridneprovskaya and Krivorozhskaya TPP”, — noted the press service of the port “South”. In the port also claim that ready to receive the contracted volumes of hard coal for thermal power plants, and plan in 2017 to take at least six vessels.

“DTEK continues to implement programs on the accumulation of anthracite coal for its thermal power plants prepare for winter. The arrival of the second vessel increases the margin of fuel for our thermal power plants operating on anthracite. For today in Ukraine came to 150 thousand tons of imported anthracite in the framework of the contract for the supply of coal from South Africa,” – said the commercial Director of DTEK Energy Vitaly Butenko.
We will remind, the first ship to 75 thousand tonnes of anthracite coal for thermal power plants, DTEK arrived in Ukraine on 25 may 2017. The company has contracted 675 thousand tons of coal from South Africa. We will remind, DTEK is the first work on the translation two units of the Prydniprovska TPP with anthracite for the brand of coal gas to reduce Ukraine’s dependence on imported fuel.
