Ukraine and the European Commission (EC) has agreed to resume the export of poultry products of Ukrainian origin to the European Union (EU) in accordance with the principle of regionalization. About it reports a press-service of Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine.
Today, the supply of chicken meat to the European market has already done, assured in the Department.
“The issue of regionalization (the supply of chicken – Ed.) was one of the most sensitive in communication with the European Commission. As a result of discussions and decisions between Ukraine and the EU already applies the principle of regionalisation in the trade of poultry and poultry products. Today, the export of Ukrainian poultry to the EU resumed,” – said the Minister of agrarian policy Taras Kutovoy.
We will remind, in December, Europe banned the import of Ukrainian poultry and products due to the outbreak of avian flu. Also in connection with the identified in the Kherson region with avian influenza a ban on the supply of eggs from this area to Hong Kong.
As estimated by experts, monthly losses of Ukraine from such a ban amount to about 150 million UAH.
