The Department of police of National police of Ukraine will fulfill the decision of the Council of national security and defence on the limitation of access to Russian web resources including social networks, within their competencies. This was stated by Director of the Department of communication of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine Artem Shevchenko.
“Regarding the ban on Russian social networks. The Department of police of National police of Ukraine will certainly take an appropriate decision within their powers and competencies. Here, in accordance with the decision of the Council… it’s time,” said Shevchenko.
As reported, today President Poroshenko signed the decree about introduction of sanctions against Russia.
As stated in the Supplement to the presidential decree, the decision to ban Internet service providers providing services for user access to the Internet resources services “Mail.ru” (Www.mail.ru) and the social networks “Vkontakte” (www.vk.com) and “Classmates” (www.ok.ru), as well as a number of the services portal of the Russian yandex.ru and other Russian resources.
It is noted that sanctions against Russian Internet resources is for three years.
