President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that, unlike his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin suffering from the collapse of the USSR, he has more concern for European values. He told this in an interview with Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat during his working visit to Finland.
“Putin, saying said it was the biggest tragedy for him – the collapse of the Soviet Union. For me is the collapse of the EU” – said Poroshenko.
The President of Ukraine reminded Finam that the EU supported Ukraine in the three years before the Crimean invasion in 2014, and also introduced sanctions against Russia.
“Putin wants to undermine trust, to divide the EU member States. Russia, having annexed Crimea, violating international law, violating the situation in the sphere of international security”, – said the head of state.
Earlier, Poroshenko said that Putin is trying to undermine the situation in Ukraine. The President of Ukraine stressed that he will not allow the mistakes of the past, will not allow argument within the team.
The head of state, staying on a working visit to Finland, refused to give an interview to Russian journalists.
