The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the world economic forum in Davos (Switzerland) held talks with President of the people’s Republic of China XI Jinping. About it reports a press-service of the President of Ukraine.
Poroshenko congratulated the Chinese leader with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and China. The head of state noted that both countries demonstrate a sincere interest in strengthening traditional friendship and expanding fruitful cooperation.
“We are interested in expanding political and economic cooperation between Ukraine and China”, – said the President of Ukraine.
As reported, during the meeting it was stressed that Ukrainian-Chinese relations are strategic in nature and are based on the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries.

XI Jinping stressed that China supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
Poroshenko, in turn, expressed the hope that China will contribute to peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donbas and to curb Russian aggression against Ukraine and restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity, including Crimea.
It is reported that an agreement was reached on the continuation of cooperation between the two countries for the sake of maintaining peace and stability at both the regional and global levels, including in the framework of the UN Security Council.

The two leaders called for intensifying economic cooperation between Ukraine and China. It was decided to hold the 2017 meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese intergovernmental Commission on cooperation.
The President of Ukraine noted that Ukraine is interested to actively participate in the implementation of the initiative of China’s “One belt, one road” and has considerable potential. The Chinese President invited Ukrainian delegation to take part in this forum.
The two leaders agreed to intensify political dialogue at the highest level. The parties agreed on the exchange of visits, the timing of which will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
Recall that in the framework of the 47th annual meeting of the world economic forum Petro Poroshenko will deliver a speechand hold a series of meetings with heads of States and governments.
Note that the Ukrainian President refused to attend the traditional forum of the Ukrainian Breakfast organized by businessman Victor Pinchuk for its scandalous articles about “Miron terms” of Ukraine with Russia.
