The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko gave the shield from shrapnel, which the Russian occupants fired at peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages and on the Ukrainian military. The Head of state said on his page on Facebook.
“I’m thankful to graduates of National defense University of Ukraine named. Ivan Chernyakhovsky for an unusual gift. Shield from shrapnel, which the Russian invaders and their mercenaries fired on peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages on our military, made the welder Sergei Vasyutin – a veteran of the ATO, in 2014 soldier of the 28th mechanized brigade,” wrote Poroshenko.
The President also added that the shield reminded him “of the difficult way, about the military universities, which the Ukrainian army has learned over these 3 years.”
“Every bullet, every shell is released, the invaders make us stronger, and the shield covering Ukraine becomes more. Our army grows stronger, tempering skill and experience,” – said Poroshenko.
