US forces killed 33 civilians in Afghanistan during a firefight with the Taliban in November 2016. In an official statement this called unfortunate incident, reports Radio Liberty.
Military explained the murder of 33 innocent people that the militants used civilian homes as positions for firing. Among the victims of the shooting were children. In addition, several civilians were relatives of Afghan militants.
27 civilians were wounded in the incident in Kunduz province.
In Afghanistan, in turn, this case caused the condemnation. There is the head of the UN mission stated that “the loss of civilian lives unacceptable and undermines efforts to build peace and stability in Afghanistan.”
