The conflict in and around Ukraine is a priority for Austria during the presidency in OSCE. This was stated by the new head of the OSCE, Minister of foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz.
“After two days in the East of Ukraine returned to Vienna. The conflict in and around Ukraine is a priority for Austria during the presidency in OSCE,” wrote Kurtz on his Twitter page.

Kurtz said earlier that Austria, during its presidency in the OSCE in 2017 will insist on the lifting of sanctions against Russia.
Economic sanctions against Russia were imposed by the EU in connection with the annexation of Crimea and Moscow’s actions in the Donbas in 2014. Recently, the EU once again extended for six months the effect of these sanctions.
