The Secretary of national security and defense Alexander Turchinov is sure that the military service will benefit young people. He stated this during the operational meeting of the management team of the General staff of the armed forces, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
In his opinion, military service should be in the public prestigious.
“Military service should be for young people, social levels and become a prerequisite for a successful political or public career, to be socially prestigious,” – said Turchinov.
He also noted that to enhance the prestige of service should be increased and the content material.
The NSDC Secretary noted the importance of military-Patriotic education in schools and higher educational institutions, and also to extend such education of veterans of the antiterrorist operation.
We will remind, earlier Turchynov declared that Ukraine can not yet afford to abandon conscription for military service. In his opinion, the country needs a reserve in the event of a large-scale war.
