The President of Moldova Igor Dodon had a formal meeting with the head of the unrecognized Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky 4 Jan Bender. It is reported by the Moldovan information publication NOI.md, the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
Emphasize that Dodon and Krasnosel discussed numerous issues, but did not political, “status” issues. Such restrictions in the agenda of the negotiators explained the reluctance to turn the residents of both Dniester banks in “hostages of politics”.
According to Igor Dodon, the primary responsibility of the authorities of Moldova and Transnistria – the creation of conditions under which citizens felt would improve their well-being, have made to resolve a specific problem.
“Of course, there are complex issues, there are some different visions, but this does not mean that we should not sit at the negotiating table to discuss and solve the problems of our citizens. As for other, more complex issues, it takes time, and based on the results that will achieve now, we find their decision,” he stated following the meeting.
Krasnosel’skii also explained why not talking politics. “Political and status issues we have not discussed. We must create conditions under which people would not be held hostage to politics, and to ensure that decisions taken by politicians were for the benefit of the people. We must respect the peoples of Pridnestrovie and Moldova and to find a compromise in any case”, – concluded the leader of Transnistria nepribrannogo.
Note that the meeting was intense, despite the absence of political issues in the negotiations. Discussed issues related to the freedom of movement of Transnistrian residents, recognition of documents on education received in educational institutions of the left Bank, concerning telecommunications and the establishment of railway communication between the two banks of the Dniester. According to both interlocutors, the economic issues play a very important role in the relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
We will remind, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, an unrecognized world government. The international community considers the territory of Transnistria as part of Moldova. The Republic declared its independence in 1990, after the military phase of the conflict in 1992, the PMR completely separated from Moldova.
