The case of NABU on “Rotterdam+” has no chance in court, have all recognized that the formula gave the lowest price of coal. This was stated by former Chairman of the Luhansk regional military-civil administration and ex-Chairman of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Gennady Moskal, the TV channel “Ukraine 24”, writes “Politeka”.
“The lowest price, which was at the time of independence of Ukraine – is the formula “Rotterdam+”. Now there is the “Amsterdam+” on gas. This is the formula, where is the largest hub where there is the greatest turnover of coal. There is no coal shipped, there is formed price,” – said Moskal.
He noted that after the abolition of the “Rotterdam” price of coal has increased dramatically, and now state-owned enterprises buying much more expensive and mainly abroad, which led to the bankruptcy of the domestic coal industry.
“In fact, brought the coal industry to bankruptcy, and now everybody’s saying, well, you see, what was a normal formula, and no need to cancel. So, you must first not to yell, not to sling mud at all, but first understand,” – said Moskal.
Recall, the formula “Rotterdam+” operated to calculate the cost of coal to establish the forecast cost of electricity exclusively for industrial consumers in the period 2016-2019 She called for the inclusion of cost of delivery of coal from the hub Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp for the whole coal. The formula was abolished on 1 July 2019 with the introduction of the electricity market. After that, the price of coal and electricity for manufacturers has increased.
