On the background of alarming warnings of scientists that collective immunity to the coronavirus will not
Deputy Minister of health, chief state sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko said that in the framework of the global initiative COVAX Ukraine will receive the vaccine every fifth citizen.
The official said at an online meeting with representatives of business, writes UNIAN.
“Ukraine has joined the global initiative COVAX. The President instructed regarding the provision of Ukraine of the vaccine COVID-19, now we are actively working on it, and there is a promise that at least 20% of the population the vaccine would come under COVAX” he said.
Lyashko added that the health Ministry is also working with vaccine manufacturers directly to establish how the supply of drugs for the state budget funds, and to provide an opportunity for Ukrainians to order vaccines on their own or through an employer who wants to vaccinate employees.
Chief sanitary doctor said that today, seven manufacturers in the world started final stage trials of a vaccine against coronavirus, and probably until the end of the year the world will get the test results and means for immunization.
