The EU is ready to impose sanctions against U.S. in Airbus case new twist

The European company has fully complied with the requirements of the world trade organization

The EU is ready to impose sanctions against the United States if Washington refuses settlement of the dispute over the duties on exports from EU countries in the case of a Corporation Airbus. The company has fully complied with the requirements of the world trade organization (WTO) on reducing public investment by changing the terms of the agreement with the authorities of France and Spain on the project of a new series of passenger aircraft A350. This is stated in the statement of the European Commission, reports TASS.

“The EU is firmly committed to a negotiated settlement of this longstanding dispute, the longest in WTO history. Especially in the current economic context, the EU believes that the mutual interests of the EU and the U.S. to stop the destructive tariffs that unnecessarily burden our industry and agricultural sector. In the absence of a settlement, the EU will be ready to take full advantage of their own rights sanctions”, – stated in it.

Coronaries continues: Airbus will dismiss 15 thousand people

We will remind, in October-2019 WTO allowed States to impose duties against the EU because the EU had not complied with earlier decisions made by the organization regarding the subsidization of Airbus Corporation. Then duty is 10%. In addition, negotiations began on concluding trade deals between the US and the EU. Now, those talks are continuing, and the White house hope that the increase in fees will accelerate the signing of the document. In turn, Brussels accuses Washington of subsidizing Boeing, and this dispute under the WTO lasts for 15 years.
