The Verkhovna Rada has unlocked the legalization of casinos in Ukraine. The deputies did not support any draft resolution on the abolition of the adoption of the law “On state regulation of activities on organization and conduct of gambling” (No. 2285-d).
Note that the law was passed at the last plenary week, but the MPs introduced three draft resolutions on the abolition of adoption. At today’s extraordinary session, the deputies received the required number of votes (at least 226).
Now the document will be signed by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and submit it to the President for signature.
Recall that on 14 July, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on legalization of gambling business in Ukraine. The document introduces a system for licensing activities in the sphere of gambling. The cost of the license will depend on the game type, amount of equipment and location of gambling. Play will only allow those 21 years or older. And the location of gambling establishments on the streets of cities impose restrictions. So, slot machine halls will be allowed only in hotels of category 3, 4 and 5 stars. At the same time, economic expert Alexei Kusch, in comments to the website “Today” was told where they can receive the areas of the casino. It should be noted that such areas may be no more than five across the country.
