In the Day of naval forces of Armed forces of Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky on Board the frigate “Hetman Sahaidachny” examined the passage of military ships and equipment. Military helicopters flew with the national flag of Ukraine and the naval flag. In the Black sea were the boats of the marine guard and artillery boats. Military boats and helicopters demonstrated a set of actions to assist the ship in distress. In addition, the waters have passed the school boat with students on Board. In memory of the fallen military sailors on the water were laid wreath. The memory of the fallen heroes observed a minute of silence.
Zelensky also congratulated the city of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk on the sixth anniversary of liberation from the illegal armed groups. “Today we have a double celebration. After all, in addition to the Day of the Navy, we are celebrating the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Six years ago the entire country, we helped our army and with alarm in heart and prayer in the shower waited for news from the East. I bow to everyone who returned the Slavyansk and Kramatorsk in Ukraine”, — said the head of state during participation in the celebrations of Day of naval forces of Ukraine in Odessa.

The Ukrainian President reminded that a year ago on the Day of the Navy he was also in Odessa, and next to him were the families of the Ukrainian sailors, who at that time was in Russian captivity. “Promised to do everything to have your kids returned home and you were able to hug them tightly. Today, I again want to thank you for believing us for what waited,” said Vladimir Zelensky.
He noted that Ukraine also returned to the tug “Yana Kapu” boats “Nikopol” and “Berdyansk”, and in Kramatorsk and Slavyansk proudly waving the blue-and-yellow flag. “And all this gives me a powerful charge of strength and faith that everything will work out! We will refund all of our people. Will return all our territories. Return faith in truth and justice. We will return to a peaceful, United and indivisible, mighty and invincible Ukraine”, — concluded the Head of state.

We thank you,” said the President of Ukraine.
Vladimir Zelensky said that the role of the Ukrainian Navy to the defense of our country cannot be overemphasized.
“The crews of coast guard vessels and naval aircraft, a unit of marine direction — we must never allow to destroy the system of black sea security. And our state goal is to systematically increase your power. We know, as in past years, the naval forces of Ukraine in many senses of the word tried to destroy and sink. I do not simply will not allow. I will do everything to Ukrainian Navy was a model of power, modernity and became a real pride of Ukraine. So we were a Maritime nation not in the distant memories of the past, but in the real present and the near future,” the President said.
According to him, the new commander of the naval forces, rear Admiral Alexei Niigata tasked to ensure the combat readiness of the Navy and equipping of a Navy missile weapons — as a deterrent.
The President said that now there is active development of naval bases and training institutions, construction of places of permanent deployment of military units of the Navy, the development of the national fleet, restoration, modernization and new weapons and military equipment.
“Most important are the state tests of the Ukrainian missile complex “Neptune”. Its adoption will make us an even stronger player in the Black and Azov seas. Also in the nearest plans — getting the boats “island” and “mark VI” in the framework of military aid from the United States of America”, — said Vladimir Zelensky.
The President also thanked international partners for their continued support of Ukraine.
