In some rivers of Ukraine could have a deficit of water, used by man. This was reported by the state Agency of water resources said at a meeting of the Council of national security and defense, the press service of the NSDC.
It is noted that the deficit may face the river, which have a significant anthropogenic load. The reason — the last five years in the country were shallow.
In connection with such forecasts, the meeting of the national security Council adopted a Protocol decision on the recommendations of the Cabinet of Ministers on water security of the country in 2020 year. They also initiated the development of a new water strategy of the state.
In addition, the NSDC Secretary Alex Danilov suggested to conduct a complete inventory of underground sources of drinking water and artesian wells to be included in the water system.
The meeting also discussed the need to raise additional funding to upgrade the Central water system to provide population with drinking water.
In early may, the head of Chernihiv regional state administration reported that the water level in the Gum fell to a historic low in the district of Chernigov.
