The Committee of VR has supported the abolition of the tax on the land under the railway track MP

According to the Deputy, the abolition of tax on land under the railway track allows to partially solve the financial problems of “Ukrzaliznytsya” without raising tariffs

The parliamentary Committee on transport and infrastructure supports the abolition of tax on land under the railway track. This was announced by MP, member of the Committee Oleksandr skichko.

“As far as I know, this initiative has the support of the Committee… It is very important for the whole railway industry and the railway sector is the circulatory system of the entire economy, it is more than 300 000 jobs. Today, it requires significant capital investment, capital repairs and capital investments. So I think this could give just a resource for the development of “Ukrzaliznytsya”, – said skichko.

He did not exclude that in special cases, this tax may remain, for example where it is more than 80% of the local budget.

“There really are towns in which the railway land tax to a percentage of the total budget of the village is almost 86%. This is an isolated case, and I believe that in these cases it is important to consider in order to keep the compensator because it is 86% of the General budget of the town… It’s a junction station, which is railway infrastructure, where people live. They still need a budget for development,” explained skichko.

According to the Deputy, the abolition of tax on land under the railway track allows to partially solve the financial problems of “Ukrzaliznytsya” without raising tariffs.

“It will not solve the problem of the whole railway. The problem of the railroad in the first place in the efficient use of those resources that they have, and in effective management. But it can be one of the components,” said skichko.

We will remind, earlier the Minister of infrastructure Vladislav Crickley stated that the Ministry initiates cancellation of tax on land under the railway track. In addition, the Minister believes that it is not possible to do without increasing the rates of “Ukrzaliznytsya” for transportation.
