Scientists have developed a vaccine against tooth decay

Chinese researchers from Wuhan University have developed a vaccine which can prevent the occurrence of dental caries, writes “Orthodox”.

In experiments conducted on laboratory rats, scientists found that fusion protein KF-rPAc isolated from Escherichia coli and of Streptococcus mutans bacteria are able to resist tooth decay. A vaccine based on this protein enhances the immune response to microbes in the oral cavity and prevents the emergence and development of caries.
