Ukraine has reduced the consumption of pork

In January-August of 2017, the Ukrainians ate 1.5% less pork than in the same period of 2016. It is reported UBR.ua with reference to the analytical Department of Association “the Pig producers of Ukraine”.

The reduction of consumption corresponds to a smaller volume available on the domestic market.

According to the updated balance of supply and demand of meat and meat products, domestic production of pork is slightly inferior to last year’s figures, while exports on the contrary – has doubled.

The volume of industrial slaughter pigs during the period under review also decreased by 1.5% to 347,2 thousand tons in live weight, the report said.
