The results of the 2016/17 marketing year (MG) Ukraine exported 769,3 thousand tons of sugar, which is an absolute record for all the years of independence. This was reported in the Association “Ukrtsukor”.
“In General, in the 2016/2017 marketing year, domestic refiners exported 769,3 thousand tons of sugar, which is an absolute record over the years of independence,” – said the head of analytical Department “Ukrtsukor” Ruslan Butylo.
In particular, in August – the last month of the season – the Ukrainian manufacturers have shipped on foreign markets 18.3 thousand tons of sugar.
Main buyers were:
- Azerbaijan – 7.8 thousand tons;
- Turkey – 5.2 thousand tons;
- Georgia – 2.5 tonnes;
- Moldova – 1,4 thousand tons.
As you know, this season of sharovarova started on 30 August. Quotas on duty-free sugar exports to the European Union Ukraine has exhausted in mid-March.
