At the beginning of any relationship everything is new, and we just can’t get enough partner. During the “honeymoon” we make love often enough. However, at some point it happens that one wants sex and the second is not in the mood. Science says that sex should be enjoyed often — at least for their own health, according to health info.
Sex stimulates the immune system
Frequent sex helps maintain a strong immune system, protecting us even from common colds. Doctor William Kolb, author of “the Rejuvenating power of Masturbation”, believes that sex ability to stimulate the immune system is associated with its interaction with the pituitary gland.
“Sexual activity (alone and together) sends signals to the pituitary gland, and it stimulates endocrine axis, including the thymus gland — the thymus gland, which plays an important role in the immune system,” he says.
A study published in 2009 in Psychology Reports, found that those who engaged in sex at least once or twice a week, 30% higher than the content in the saliva of immunoglobulin A, than those who sex is not involved. Immunoglobulin A — an antibody that helps fight infections and the common cold. Above all, its content had been found in couples that have sex several times a week.
Sex reduces blood pressure
Sex can help to lower blood pressure to normal levels. In a study published in 2000 in the journal Biological Psychology, researchers interviewed 51 people (men and women) aged 20 to 47 on how often they have sex — and then measured their blood pressure. The researchers concluded that frequent sex is associated with a decrease in pressure.
“Proximity is a great sport, cardio. The increased levels of sex hormones, especially estrogen, are very good for the heart”, says Kolb.
Sex has a positive effect on the heart
Sex reduces the risk of developing heart disease. A study published in 2002 in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, found that regular sex reduces the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease in men.
The study, which was published in 2010 in the American Journal of Cardiology concluded that men who rarely have sex, the higher the risk of cardiovascular disease. Scientists have made the assertion that men who regularly have sex, are comfortable in a relationship — and this can contribute to health by lowering stress levels and because of the existing relationship support.
Sex reduces stress
After sex we feel relaxed and thrilled. Published in 2002 in the publication Archives of Sexual Behavior study claims that semen has antidepressant properties. Contact with semen during sex can increase the level of happiness in women — and, accordingly, to reduce the level of stress.
“Sex reduces stress in women. This is especially true in the case of women who during the next relaxed and not uptight” — quoted by Medical Daily the psychotherapist Fran Walvis Bay.
Keri Simon, a clinical social worker from St. Louis who often works with couples, believes that close relationships reduce in the body levels of cortisol — a stress hormone.
“Intimate, bodily movements and gestures signal — no need to be in a defensive position, no need to choose between fighting or fleeing. This is a very powerful level of communication. The intimacy between two people is a very strong connection,” she says.
Sex improves sleep
We all know that some of us passed out immediately after sex — and with good reason. Released during intimacy endorphins help us to enter into this natural state as the euphoria — and it leads to a decrease in the level of tension. Released during orgasm oxytocin also promotes sleep. Them secretes the pituitary gland during intense physical activity, emotional experiences, pain and orgasm. Oxytocin is called the “love hormone” because it is secreted when two people are in physical contact.
Curious: in the course of 2014, the study found that women who slept an hour longer than other participants of the experiment had higher levels of sexual desire. And they have a 14% increased likelihood to have sex the next day. In addition, women who sleep longer than average, while proximity to abundant stands of vaginal lubrication. That is, the relationship between sleep and sex works both ways.
