Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Emmanuel macron urged Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to intensify efforts of implementation of the Minsk agreements establishing a cease-fire in Eastern Ukraine, which is fragile.

In particular, Merkel and macron stated that it is concerned that the security situation in the Donbas not substantially improved. They continue to monitor closely the situation in the East of Ukraine.

“We urge President Putin and President Poroshenko to comply fully with their obligations, openly and publicly support the ceasefire and to ensure that appropriate orders were sent to military and local forces,” – said in a statement.
