Germany will continue to support Ukraine – Steinmeier

The President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in his message to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine noted that Germany will continue to support Ukraine. About it reported in a press-service of the Ukrainian President.

“Germany in the future as the forces will support Ukraine and, together with its European and international partners will advocate for the citizens of the whole Ukraine can live in peace, stability and prosperity on the principles of freedom and independence,” – said the President of Germany.

Steinmeier stressed that “Germany is very concerned about the fate of Ukraine and its citizens”.

In greeting separately noted that, despite the difficult and long way, implemented important steps in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the EU countries with the granting Ukraine visa-free regime in June 2017 and the expected entry into force of the Association Agreement in September.

Also, the President of Germany noted the importance to continue the implementation of reforms in Ukraine.

Steinmeier wished Ukraine and the Ukrainian people the courage, the strength of cohesion and peaceful future.

As reported, the Queen of great Britain Elizabeth II congratulated Ukraine on the 26th anniversary of independence.
