The number of active structural units of banks in Ukraine in the first half decreased by 500 units. About it reports a press-service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
So, now the country has 9.8 thousand Bank branches.
“The main reasons for the reduction of networks – removal of insolvent banks from the market and optimization of a network of separate national banks,” – said the NBU.

According to the national Bank, the number of employees of the banking sector in the first half decreased by 4.4 thousand people – up to 135.7 per thousand employees.
Recall that in 2014, the NBU and the Deposit guarantee Fund took over the market 90 banks.
