The ex-President of Georgia, former head of the Odessa regional state administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, while attempting to cross the Ukrainian border will be seized the passport of the citizen of Ukraine, and he will be missed on the territory of Ukraine. This was stated by first Deputy head of the Ukrainian state border service Vasyl Servatus, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“Decree of the President of Ukraine (on the termination of citizenship Saakashvili – ed.) and the order of the State migration service of Ukraine in the State border service is. The decree and order related documents declared invalid, and we charged in case of detection of such documents … they are withdrawn, the relevant documents are compiled and transferred to the State migration service”, – said the Servatus.
According to him, the border guard, found in the implementation of border control the passport of the citizen of Ukraine or other passport, which is in the database and which is invalid, will act in accordance with the required algorithm.
“The passport is withdrawn, is given the certificate of its seizure and the person does not pass through the state border, because the citizen has no documents that give the right to cross the border,” he explained.
We will note, earlier on Tuesday, the Polish media reported that Saakashvili left the territory of Poland.
On the eve of the Georgian authorities asked Poland to tell where there is Saakashvili.
The media in Lithuania, meanwhile, reported that Saakashvili arrived in Vilnius.
We will remind, Saakashvili received the Ukrainian passport in may 2015, which was deprived of Georgian citizenship. At the end of July the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has deprived Saakashvili Ukrainian citizenship because of the provision of incorrect data as it is received.
In Georgia, the former President is accused in several criminal cases. At home he faces up to 11 years of imprisonment.
